When Simi’s Jamb question first came out, I made a mental
note to do a review almost immediately, but as a professional beans man like me
I did not get around to doing it. Then a remix came out and Falz the bahd guy ‘”hopped”
on it and it was beautiful!
You see while I was growing up, in secondary school or there
about, when you asked an irrelevant question someone would shout out Jamb
Question! Usually the crowd which was the class would burst out in laughter .
Simi just made that expression go viral with her banger.
THE REVIEW
The song is witty and pictures the typical scenario of a
girl being woed by a guy who practically has nothing to say, asking irrelevant
questions. This is a common situation found around us. A guy sees a beautiful
girl and decides he has to engage her in a conversation but practically has
nothing to say so says anything and everything.
The instrumentals were beautiful and felt natural with a
lovely rhythm. It is not the loud noise that has become common place in our
music industry these days. It just flows and has a lovely feel good feeling.
You would hear drums and a little something that sounds like a gong. It felt
like the traditional folklore songs.
Falz killed it with the rap by the way. I want to listen to
almost anything Falz after I heard his verse on Marry you. Falz is a witty
person with an intelligent mind, so trust him to deliver whenever you provide
him with a good beat.
FAVORITE PART
It has to be Falz’s rap. I liked the way he confessed about
how the girl’s beauty confused him and he resulted into saying random things
like asking her if she could swim? I mean that’s hilarious. I just generally enjoyed the display of intelligence
by the 2(two) artistes by using a song to tell a story.
By the way, I think it is safe to say that Falz has arrived
in the music scene, but for Simi, she is definitely a rising star you don’t want
to look away from
