Alright , so I finally bring Korede Bello to Vexscheworld! This is a musician we respect a lot and have followed since he started catching the eye of the public, or should we say the public caught his eye lol (reffering to his famous wink). This guy is a musician in every sense of the word and his latest single is Fire!!
From the instant I heard African Princess I knew this guy was heading towards greatness. You might not have heard African princess because those kind of songs do not really thrive well in the Nigerian music scene, well for now.
The major hit everybody probably knows korede Bello for is Godwin, and to be truthful I was not too happy with Godwin at first play, I mean it was a great song, with a brilliant message but I just thought the "African Princess"crooner could do better with his musical talent.
Alas! Mavin Records knew exactly what they were doing as Godwin blew charts away and should be winning song of the year at this year's headies( The Nigerian version of the grammies) if I were to decide. By the way, who noticed the resemblance in the beat/instrumentals of Godwin and the Mavin's Dorrrubucci. Well, it just shows our Mavin crew was being resourceful and would not let a good beat go to waste. lol
The Review!!!!
Somebody great is about Korede Bello's rise to fame and importance. "from nobody to somebody , somebody wey dey spray millions , somebody wey go save billions". Korede Bello is definately somebody now. He explains that God that did it for him will do it for us too.
So... I can really relate with Korede Bello's Somebody Great because I actually watched it happen to him. It was a meteoric rise. I vivdly recall when he had 3k or so followers on Instagram, and I watched those digits rise alarmingly!
The rhyme scheme korede bello employed in this classic hit is simply awesome and just goes a long way in justifying his talent. I love when a musician uses his rhymes to make a lot of sense. Beautiful rhymes passing a beautiful message.
Korede bello seeked the assistance of Asa on this one and she did justice on it. It was a lovely pair and they definately made beautiful music together. By the way, Aunty Asa , I sight you oooo, lol. I noticed a line similar to one of those on Jamie Gracie's song , the one about being with her guitar! its not only about the line, it felt really similar to the way Jamie gracie said it too .It's really cool, it just shows our Asa is very resourceful! and that she listens to Jamie gracie. :)
